Virginia LiDAR Data Available

LiDAR data for eleven Virginia counties have been added to the Virginia Lidar site hosted at William & Mary. Proposed by the Virginia Geographic Information Network and funded by USGS the data was collected Spirng of 2010 and has a nominal pulse spacing of 0.7m and a Consolidated Vertical Accuracy (CVA) of 0.73 feet.…

Update from May 3-5 Optimal Conservation Strategy Workshop

Despite some last minute travel restrictions, we managed to get a good diversity of conservation perspectives represented at the May 3-5 Workshop. That included folks from National Park Service, EPA, NCASI (representing the forest products industry), the Nature Conservancy, NRCS, FWS... The folks at this meeting are part of the small "phase 1" work team which will be expanded in the very near future.

Now hiring: SALCC GIS position GS12/13 closes June 27

The GIS position for the South Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative just went up on USAJOBS and closes June 27th. Not surprisingly, I think this is going to be a really great job so please pass it on to anyone you think would be interested.
