South Atlantic LCC Steering Committee Meeting Highlights

The South Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative Steering Committee met at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield, Georgia on March 25-27, 2014 for its annual face to face meeting.  During the meeting the Committee reviewed the progress of the Cooperative over the past twelve months and set the direction for the next 12-18 months.  I am sharing the following highlights of this meeting on behalf of the Committee.

Connecting with landscapes beyond the South Atlantic

I am excited to report that your Cooperative’s shared Conservation Blueprint will connect to a much broader effort to build the conservation landscape of the future.  As you know, your Cooperative has already been working to integrate our conservation planning effort with those of the other LCCs in the southeast to support a Southeast Conservation Adaptation Strategy.  The South Atlantic and Peninsular Florida LCCs have already agreed to connect our respective blueprints by spring 2015 and…

Thank you for the welcome! I agree, it would be interesting to see the overlay of the East Coast Greenway route through the South Atlantic as it relates to the Blueprint. We have "permanent" routing that is designated greenway trails and "interim" routing on-roads. 
I'm looking forward to collaborating with the South Atlantic LCC.
