South Atlantic LCC

Setting a course for a sustainable landscape

Brown Bag

Each month on the second Thursday, the South Atlantic LCC, the Southeast Climate Science Center, the Southeast Regional Climate Hub, and the State Climate Office of North Carolina bring you the Triangle Climate and Landscape Researchers' Brown Bag.

The Brown Bag lunch is a forum for climate and landscape researchers in the Triangle to sit down face-to-face. Each month there is a main topic with a different presenter, along with time for everyone to meet and share information/news. Everyone involved in climate or landscape research is welcome to attend.

Next Brown Bag Presentation

Date: December 10th, 2015

Speaker: Sarah Wiener, Coordinator, Southeast Regional Climate Hub

Title: Tools for Climate Change Adaptation on Southeastern Working Lands

Description: The USDA Southeast Regional Climate Hub (SERCH) is one of seven Climate Hubs established by USDA Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. The Climate Hubs were established to provide tools and resources to farmers and foresters to help them prepare for, adapt to, and mitigate a changing climate. This presentation will be an overview of resources provided by SERCH, including: the Southeast Vulnerability Assessment, the Climate Hubs Tool Shed, the NRCS Climate Tool, SERCH LIGHTS, TACCIMO, and AgroClimate.

Time and Location: 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm in the 3rd floor training room of the Wildlife Resources Commission building (1751 Varsity Drive, Room 315) on NCSU Centennial Campus

Please join us for this exciting talk, and please feel free to extend this invitation to colleagues, students, faculty or friends.
